Expedition has become one of the most profitable low-investment farming strategies in Path of Exile 2. With the right Atlas setup, tablets, Waystones, and Runic Remnant choices, experienced players can generate an impressive amount of POE2 Currency while spending relatively little on map preparation. A strong character can potentially reach 50–60 or more Divines per hour, although actual results depend heavily on build strength, map quality, RNG, and player experience.

Why Expedition Is So Profitable

The biggest advantage of Expedition is its low entry cost. Unlike some endgame strategies that require expensive scarabs, specialized maps, or complicated investment setups, Expedition mainly requires a map and a Logbook. This makes it particularly attractive for players who want a reliable farming method without constantly spending large amounts of currency.

One experienced player reported farming Expedition for around eight to nine hours and increasing their Divine total from 325 to 562. Even without counting valuable drops such as Chaos Orbs, Perfect Exalted Orbs, Perfect Chaos Orbs, gems, and other Expedition rewards, the raw Divine income exceeded 25 Divines per hour. With everything included, the estimated profit reached around 50–60 Divines per hour.

Of course, these numbers represent high-end performance rather than a guaranteed income for every player.

Build Your Tablet Setup Carefully

For Expedition tablets, three Eradicated Tablets are recommended. Expedition Tablets currently do not provide benefits to Grand Expeditions, so Eradicated Tablets are the preferred choice.

Each tablet can provide additional random map modifiers. The most desirable options are increased Monster Effect and increased Rare Monster numbers. Item Rarity is also useful but generally weaker than these choices.

If you find a tablet with only one useful modifier, you can use a Divine Orb to attempt to upgrade it to two modifiers. However, three-tablet setups can become expensive, so they are best reserved for particularly strong five-, six-, or seven-mod maps. For ordinary maps, cheaper two-mod tablets can still produce excellent profits while making the content easier.

Optimize Waystones and Atlas Passives

Monster Effect should generally be your highest priority when selecting Waystones. Monster Rarity is another valuable modifier, followed by Item Rarity. Pack Size is usually less desirable for this particular strategy, although an eight-mod map with Pack Size can still be worth keeping.

For Atlas passives, Monster Effect is the standard choice for powerful characters. Players who struggle with the increased difficulty can choose Rarity instead. Expedition itself is generally better in Desert layouts because of the potential rewards, while Forest can be a more comfortable option for weaker characters.

Important Expedition passives should increase the number of Remnant explosives and counters, while the quantity bonus gained from Runic modifiers can significantly improve overall loot.

Choose the Right Expedition Master

Jato is the preferred Expedition master for a strong farming setup. Recommended options include Unexpected Missions, Eastern Knowledge, Partial Translations, and Keen Appraisal.

Doryani is another viable choice, particularly for weaker characters. His setup can provide additional Expedition opportunities and help keep maps running smoothly. Since breaking a Grand Expedition can severely reduce your profits, maintaining consistency is often more valuable than chasing maximum theoretical rewards.

Focus on Runic Remnant Propagation

The most important part of Expedition farming is understanding how Runic Remnants interact with each other. Early in the Expedition, your goal should be to collect as many strong purple modifiers as possible. Later, you want to propagate those modifiers into high-value seven-plus Remnants.

Highlighted Remnants can pass their modifiers onto subsequent monster groups. This means a powerful modifier obtained early can continue affecting multiple waves of enemies. Ideally, you want to finish an Expedition with several seven-, eight-, or even nine-Remnant groups carrying multiple strong modifiers.

The Opulent Remnant deserves special attention. It is the unique golden Remnant and can significantly improve the effectiveness of the other Remnants. If Opulent is reasonably accessible, rushing toward it is often worthwhile.

Other valuable Remnants include Power, Death, Bond, Oath, Time, and Rebirth. Their exact value depends on the map and the modifiers surrounding them, but strong purple Remnants should generally take priority over ordinary blue ones.

Reroll Weak Remnants

Liquid Verisium allows players to reroll Remnants, and it can become effectively self-sustaining while farming Expedition. Low-value Remnants, especially those with five or fewer modifiers, should usually be rerolled when they lack a desirable purple effect.

However, guaranteed rewards worth one or more Divines should generally be kept rather than rerolled. Learning when to reroll and when to accept a mediocre Remnant is an important part of becoming efficient at Expedition.

Expect RNG and Learn the Layouts

Expedition profits are not completely consistent. One apparently average Expedition can suddenly produce ten raw Divines, while another may only generate three or four. Over a long period, the average may settle around eight to ten raw Divines per Expedition, but individual results can vary dramatically.

Map layouts, explosive placement, Remnant positions, and available modifiers all affect your final results. This is why Expedition requires practice. New players may initially struggle to understand which Remnants to prioritize and how to route their explosives, but efficiency improves significantly with experience.

Expedition is also demanding combat content. Many builds need substantial gear before they can comfortably handle heavily empowered monsters. Some strong builds can begin earlier, while Headhunter can provide a major advantage because Expedition generates large numbers of rare monsters.

Ultimately, Expedition rewards players who combine efficient preparation with smart Remnant selection and careful routing. Once your character is strong enough and you understand how to propagate valuable modifiers into seven-plus Remnants, the strategy can become one of the most powerful farming methods in the game. For players who want to accelerate their progression and cheap POE 2 Exalted Orbs, Expedition remains an excellent strategy to master because of its low investment, scalable rewards, and enormous long-term profit potential.
