Diablo 4 Athulua War Mount Guide | U4GM

Unlock Diablo IV's War Mount of Athulua faster with smart Warplan strategies, from efficient Whispers and Helltides to quick Undercity runs, Boss Lairs, Infernal Hordes, and Pit clears.

Reaching rank seven on every Warplan takes time, but the grind feels far less painful when you build a routine around quick clears. Stick with one character, since Warplan progress is separate for each hero. Before heading out, make sure your build can handle fast farming rather than the toughest content available. A reliable setup and useful D4 items can save more time than chasing a difficult tier that slows every run down.

Start With the Fastest Helltide and Undercity Routes

Helltides are worth approaching in two stages. Farm Aberrant Cinders on a difficulty where enemies drop quickly, then return to town and move up to the highest Torment level you can manage. Open the chests there for a much better Warplan payout. Torment IV is especially rewarding. If your board offers Immortal Ember, take it early; losing Cinders after a death can waste an entire trip. In Kurast Undercity, skip Tributes and Bargains when experience matters more than loot. Run through the portals, ignore side packs, and focus on the boss.

Stack Objectives Instead of Chasing Random Progress

The Tree of Whispers becomes much better when you target five-Favor tasks. Seething Abominations near Denshar and Alzuuda are convenient because you can fight them without becoming Bloodmarked. Blood Maiden events are also strong when you have enough ritual hearts. Keep an eye on Boss Lair Whispers too. A marked Echo of Varshan can provide progress without summoning materials. For Nightmare Dungeons, craft the right sigils at the Occultist and favour Empowered versions. Pairing one with an active Whisper saves a trip and keeps the session moving.

Use the Warplan menu to teleport straight to Boss Lairs and Infernal Hordes.
Choose a Pit tier you can clear comfortably, not one that forces repeated deaths.
Pick Stone Heart or Thieves Curse when their progress orbs appear on the board.
In Infernal Hordes, Chaos choices can shorten a six-wave run when loot is not the priority.

Keep the Board Flexible

The Pit still helps with Glyph upgrades, so it is easy to fold into a normal farming session. Clear a modest tier, collect the board-related orbs, and finish the run for the experience payout. If the Butcher appears, kill him quickly or accept the loss if you only need to reset your pace. When the board fills with tasks you dislike, spend a Mark of Eldruin to roll a fresh set. Those marks come from completing a full board, so the system rewards sticking with a plan rather than abandoning progress halfway through.

Make Each Session Count

There is no need to force every activity into one night. Pick the quickest objectives available, stay on your main character, and adjust the difficulty whenever clear speed starts to suffer. A focused rotation of Whispers, Helltides, Undercity runs, and selected dungeons will steadily push every Warplan towards rank seven, while sensible use of cheap D4 items can help keep that routine comfortable.
