Locations of the Altars for Unique Purified Essences

Below are the confirmed locations of all four altars and the Essences required to activate them.

1) Altar of Anguish - Andariel

Region: Nahantu - Seven Stones
Nearest Waypoints: Kurast Docks or Samuk
Required Item: Purified Claw of Andariel

Travel east from Kurast Docks for the shortest route. Interacting with Diablo 4 Items the altar using Andariel's claw ignites it with crimson flames.

2) Altar of Lies - Belial

Region: Fractured Peaks - Seat of the Heavens
Nearest Waypoint: Bear Tribe Refuge
Required Item: Purified Eye of Belial

Ride east from Bear Tribe Refuge to find a glowing green altar tucked away in the mountains.

3) Altar of Sin - Azmodan

Region: Hawezar - Umir Plateau
Nearest Waypoint: Hawezar
Required Item: Purified Tongue of Azmodan

Head northeast from Hawezar rather than following the usual Azmodan event path.

4) Altar of Pain - Duriel

Region: Caldeum (south of the city)
Required Item: Purified Horn of Duriel

This altar is hidden just outside Caldeum and D4 materials for sale was first reported by community members before being fully confirmed in-game.
